More than winning a case

To the Editor:

Thank you, Ken, for fighting for what is rightfully owed to Virginians. As we have seen in recent weeks, the IRS has been incompetent and unfair in its practice, and now we wonder if Virginia could be a victim of the same behavior.

Abbott Pharmaceutical’s unscrupulous dealings affected nursing homes all over Virginia. Because of this, our state was due the $125 million settlement that should have been paid almost a year ago. As acting Attorney General, Ken has relentlessly pursued the IRS to force them to turn over the money, leading his office through nearly 38,000 man-hours of work. That is the kind of dedication that will translate to an effective term as governor.

Moreover, Ken has proposed using the money to fund local law enforcement upgrades as well as to train local prosecutors. For Ken, this is about more than just winning a case. It is about Virginia’s safety.
