PETERSBURG—Mr. Jerome Reid of Edmonds Avenue, Petersburg, Va., departed this life on June 15, 2013 while a patient in Southside Regional Medical Center, Petersburg, VA. He was born on January 18, 1967 to the late Willie Reid, Jr. and Alma Chambliss Reid in Franklin, VA.

Jerome was a 1986 graduate of Franklin High School and attended Virginia State University in Petersburg, VA. He was employed as a photographer for the Richmond Free Press, Richmond, VA.

Jerome is survived by two sisters, Belinda Reid and Vickie Reid of Franklin, VA; one brother, Eric L. Reid of Franklin, VA; one aunt, Ruby C. Lawrence; one uncle, James Chambliss and cousins.

A homegoing celebration will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2013, East End Church of God, 410 East Street, Franklin, VA, with Bishop Stefán Adams, Sr. delivering the eulogy; Bishop S.D. Willis is pastor. The Committal and benediction will be held in Southview Cemetery. On the day of service, his remains will rest in church for viewing by 10:30 a.m. A visitation will be held from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. on Friday evening at Bland Funeral Home, 137 Harrison Street, Petersburg, VA.
