FRANKLIN— Yvonne “Von” Evans, 46, died Friday, June 7, 2013 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond after suffering a long illness. A celebration of life will be held Thursday, June 13 at noon at Pleasant Plain Baptist Church in Drewryville, where the Rev. Carlton Powell is the pastor. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Evans was employed with the U.S. Postal Service for more than 20 years. She was a deaconess at Pleasant Plain Baptist Church, part of the youth ministry, the hospitality committee, a vacation Bible school teacher, an usher board member, trustee, church treasurer and Black Achievers.

Survivors include her husband, J. Tyrone Evans; three sons, Tyree J. Evans, Brandon M. Evans and Trevoris M. Evans; parents, John and Bertha Artis; one sister, Theresa Adams and one brother, Jonathan Artis. The Rev. Anthony Rawlings will officiate. Engram Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
