To the Editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who made our inaugural Community Day at Courtland Health & Rehab a BIG success! We couldn’t have made it happen without you! Our Residents were able to come out and enjoy themselves which was our main goal.

First of all, thank you to the Team’ who pitched in. There were also many others that helped behind the scenes and we would like to recognize them. Art Rawlings, Burgess Trucking, Greg Jackson of the VSP & local Masonic Lodge, WLQM, Tidewater Publications, Franklin-Southampton Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Franklin Association.

We were really worried when the storm came up on Friday night and we arrived on Saturday morning to find we had a small pond in our parking lot. The Team’ jumped in and made that water disappear! We were so glad when the sun made its appearances during the day!

To those who came out, a huge Thank You! We would like to recognize them as well. The Pitts Family, Cecil Edwards, Courtland Baptist Church Praise & Worship Team, Jean Stephenson & Southampton County Department of Social Services, Patty Story & Southampton County Health Department, Justin Forrest & Courtland Vol. Fire Department, Andy Bailey & Courtland Vol. Rescue Squad and Masonic Lodge, Farmers Bank, EVB, Personal Care Preferred Group, Angela Jeffries, Ashley Turner, Darby Fitzgerald, Gayle Artis, Frances Britt, Crystal Butler, Mary Lee Butler, Angie Edwards, Brandy Collins, Jill Gorgei, Shelly Rosales, Jenny Tindle, Drewryville Women’s Club, Smart Beginnings, Deborah Boone, I-Ride & Southampton Senior Services, Holly Dawson, and C & C Entertainment.

We look forward to another successful event in the future!
