Jane S. Harcum

FRANKLIN—Jane Story Harcum, 75, passed away June 1, 2013. Born in Murfreesboro, NC, she was a daughter of the late John Faison and Dorothy Taylor Story and was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Timothy Guy “T.G.” Harcum Jr., and her brother, Robert Story. She was retired from the Franklin Post Office where she was a rural mail carrier for 14 years. Using her nursing training, Mrs. Harcum unselfishly cared for many neighbors and elderly family members. She was a member of Franklin Baptist Church.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Janet H. Brinkley and her husband, Robin, of Virginia Beach; her son, Timothy G. Harcum, III and his wife, Kelly, of Franklin; sister-in-law, Roxada Story of Durham, NC; five grandchildren, Scott and Travis Brinkley, C.J. and Matthew Harcum and Emily Asbell and two great-grandchildren, Drew and Ashton Asbell.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at Franklin Baptist Church with the Rev. Brent Kimlick and Rev. Steve Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in Beaver Dam Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
