Ivor cemetery holds memorial service

IVOR—A vocal group composed of members of two families from Millfield Baptist Church and the new pastor of Ivor Baptist Church delivered the program Sunday at the Ivor Cemetery Memorial Day service.

More than 50 people gathered at the cemetery to honor the nation’s veterans and other loved ones who have passed away.

To start the program, Ivor Vice mayor, Tommy Pittman introduced “The Generations,” a group of five vocalists, which included Ivor mayor, Sandra Vick, her daughter Leslie Brittle and her granddaughter Allison Brittle along with Molly Dowless and her daughter Sarah Dowless.

The group, accompanied by Mollie Dowless on guitar, sang several hymns during the service,

Ivor Baptist pastor Don Roberts spoke about the meaning of Memorial Day and how it began. The program concluded with a hymn by The Generations.
