FRANKLIN—William Donovan Guyer, 85, passed away May 17, 2013 at his residence in Rincon, Georgia. Mr. Guyer was a native of Mechanicsburg, PA and was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Alice Grundon Guyer, who passed away January 21, 2006. For 21 years, Franklin, VA was where Alice and Don raised their family. For the past 35 years, Don has resided in Rincon. He was the son of the late William Earl and Mabel Martin Guyer and was a member of the Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Springfield, GA. He was a Navy veteran of WWII and a retired Chief of maintenance in the Aviation Department of Union Camp after 21 years of service and then worked with Gulfstream Aerospace, Savannah, GA for 10 years. Survivors include two daughters, Becky Guyer Harris and husband Richard of Sedley, VA and Nancy Guyer Woods and husband Derrick of Pomfret Center, CT; one son, Jeff Guyer and wife Tamara of Savannah, GA; two grandchildren, Travis Woods (Emily Baggett) and Morgan W. Fredlund and husband Greg; one sister, Carole G. Miller and husband Ben; two sisters-in-law, Roxan Guyer and Bonnie Guyer.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Wright Funeral Home Franklin. Burial with military honors will follow at Rosemont Cemetery Sedley. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral (from 1 to 2 p.m.) and suggest that memorials be made to Hospice Savannah, P.O.
