Many thanks to ‘angels’ who helped car crash victim

To the Editor:

Earlier this month I was involved in a serious roll over vehicle accident while driving to work along Route 620 in Isle of Wight County.

I was fortunate to have been able to walk away from the accident and feel very blessed to have been given the opportunity to stay on this earth to spend more time with my family and those I love.

As I ponder on the accident, the thoughts that are stuck in my mind are not so much the details of the crash itself, but of all the kind people (I call them my angels) who stopped to offer me assistance. Their only concern was for my welfare — me a stranger to them. I am so fortunate to live in a community among so many wonderful caring people. I don’t know the names of those who stopped, but you know who you are. I want to send you my heartfelt thanks for your kindness, well wishes, comfort and for being there in my time of need.

Finally, I want give recognition and thanks to the wonderful professional personnel from the Isle of Wight Sheriff’s Department, fire department and especially the very patient EMT’s. You are the everyday heroes who too often go unthanked for the superb and compassionate service you provide to our community. Thank you again to all!!
