Windsor Boys tennis team remains undefeated in district play

FRANKLIN—Rain showers on Monday forced the home team to play some of the matches at the Franklin High School tennis courts and the remaining ones inside at the James L. Camp Jr. YMCA.

Playing the Windsor Dukes in a district match, the Broncos were easily defeated by the district’s No. 1 team, 8-1.

Singles

Single matches played in an eight-game pro set:

• 1. Shaun Derama (FHS) lost 1 -8 to Kyle Hollowell (WHS)

• 2. William Jackson (FHS) lost 5-8 to Ethan Bales (WHS)

• 3. Scott Davis (FHS) was defeated 1-8 to Cody Reese (WHS)

• 4. Collin Porter (FHS) lost 0-8 to Dan Klausmeier (WHS)

• 5. Clinton Smith (FHS) went down1-8 to Derek Klausmeier (WHS)

• 6. Steven Hurst (WHS) won by default

 

Doubles

In doubles the scores were in an eight-game pro set:

• 1. Derama / Davis (FHS) won 8-6 over Klausmeier/ Klausmeier (WHS)

• 2. Jackson / Porter (FHS) lost 0- 8 to Reese / Hurst (WHS)

• 3. Bales/Hollowell (WHS) won by default
