Person of interest held in Ivor burglaries

IVOR—A Richmond man is being held as a person of interest in connection with four residential burglaries in the Dory/Ivor area.

Carter Darnell Beale, 45, was found in the locale by Southampton County Sheriff Jack Stutts after he and other units responded to a call around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, said department spokesman Maj. Gene Drewery.

Beale reportedly first gave false information on his identity. After his fingerprints were sent to the Virginia State Police Livescan system, he was found to be wanted in Henrico County for two counts of destruction of property and two counts of malicious wounding.

Beale is being held without bond in Southampton County Jail.

A handgun, cash and prescription drugs were taken in these burglaries.
