Group finds creative way to promote

When some of Franklin’s small business owners united to form a “sub” group called Downtown Divas recently, this group of businesswomen showed great initiative and creative thinking.

Utilizing the social media network of Facebook is a positive first step in spreading the word about their respective businesses in an effort to promote downtown collectively.

The businesses involved so far include Alphabet Soup, Designs by Sandra, New Life Resale, Simply Divine, City Paint, The Cat’s Meow and Aesthetics by Naomi.

If one business has a sale and promotes it through the Downtown Divas moniker, all should benefit because of the trickle-down affect. A customer comes to downtown to purchase a specific item on sale at one of the Downtown Divas businesses and they in turn spread the word about their “sister” businesses and it snowballs. It is a win-win proposition.

The group recently held a fashion show at Simply Divine featuring fashions from Cat’s Meow and plans to have more such community-oriented projects in the future. Forward thinking should go a long way to bring people in to downtown, and once there will see the charm and diversity of what’s available.

Good for them in working together and assisting not only their respective businesses, but all of downtown as a whole. Banding together for the greater good benefits all.
