VIRGINIA BEACH—Roy Rose passed away at age 101 on December 11, 2012 in Conyers Ga., where he had resided for the past 11 years.  He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran serving in the Pacific during World War II. A resident of the Thoroughgood neighborhood in Virginia Beach for over 40 years, he spent his career in sporting goods sales with C. Lloyd Johnson, Inc. in Norfolk.  He is survived by stepchildren, Daniel T. Balfour (Jane) of Richmond Va., and Meta B. Jones (Mike) of Conyers, Ga. A graveside memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 17, at 4 p.m. at Poplar Spring Cemetery in Franklin, Va.  www.wrightfuneralhome.org.
