E.R.M. “Mac” Coker

FRANKLIN—E.R.M. “Mac” Coker died April 9, 2013 at VCU Medical Center, Richmond, Va. Mr. Coker was born in Columbia, S.C. on March 10, 1931, son of the late William Caleb and Louise Williams Coker. He is survived by his wife, Louisa Hunt Coker; sons, William Coker, his wife Sally, and their children, Laney and Will, of Spartanburg, S.C.; John Coker and his wife, Leslie, and their children, Anne and Hannah, of Hendersonville, N.C.; James Coker and his wife, Gina, and their children, Mia, Reese and Charlie, of Atlanta, Ga.; his sisters, Mary C. Wieters of Abbeville, S.C. and Flora C. Wood of Milwaukee, Wis.

Mr. Coker was a graduate of the University of Virginia, Class of 1953. From 1953 to 1956, he served with the Civil Engineer Corps (Seabees) of the United States Navy. Following naval service, he received a graduate degree in Industrial Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1958 and, upon graduation, he served in various capacities with the Fine Paper Division of Union Camp Corporation in Franklin for 35 years, retiring as Sales Manager in 1993.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Emmanuel Episcopal Church. Following the service, a reception will be held at The Village at Woods Edge.
