To the Editor:

I believe DOMA, Defense of Marriage Act, was hastily crafted by Congress and signed into law by sitting President Bill Clinton in contradiction to the authority of Congress versus the authority of the individual states.

Given that, I predict the Supreme Court will overturn that issue, now before the Court.

On the matter of marriage equality, I believe my preceding prediction will see the Supreme Court rule that the individual states determine, with authority, “who marries whom”.

Since the individual state is the only licensing authority that exists, then and only then, will the authority to marry be granted?

Eligibility to marry will be governed by state constitutions.

Religious marriage eligibility will be determined by tradition, dogma and laws of the religion being petitioned to perform the marriage.

We have more important matters to bring before the Supreme Court of the United States.
