FHS tennis loses season opener

COURTLAND—The Franklin High School boys’ tennis team opened its 2013 season with a 2-7 loss to Southampton High School on Friday.

The Indians won four out of six singles matches and swept all three doubles matches. The match highlights for the Broncos were singles wins by No. 2 seed Shaun Derama and No. 3 seed Tevin Sumblin.

The Indians will travel to Surry High School at 4 p.m. on Monday April 8, while the Broncos will next play at home against Northampton High School at 4 p.m. on Tuesday April 16.
