Herman Lee Bradshaw

FRANKLIN—Herman Lee Bradshaw, 89, widower of Dorothy Hill Bradshaw, passed away March 20, 2013, with his children and daughter-in-law at his side. He was born July 9, 1923 in Southampton County, to the late John Walter and Annie Stacey Joyner Bradshaw. Mr. Bradshaw was a graduate of Southampton High School Class of ’41 and served in the Army during World War II. He was a 1953 graduate of Virginia Tech with an Agricultural Engineering Degree, and retired from Franklin Equipment Company in 1985 as a Mechanical Engineer. He enjoyed farming, reading, and computer technology. He was predeceased by three brothers, John Walter Bradshaw, Jr., Lonnie August Bradshaw, and Willie Roy Bradshaw; one sister, Annie Mae Bradshaw Kennedy; and son-in-law, Stephen Lebo. He was a member of Franklin Baptist Church.

Survivors include his daughter, Deborah Bradshaw Lebo of Fairfax, and two sons, Michael Bradshaw, Sr., and wife, Michele Trainer Bradshaw, of Reston, and John Bradshaw of Franklin; four grandchildren, Sarah Lebo of New York City, Austin Lebo and wife, Kaitlyn Lebo of Valley Center, Calif., Michael Bradshaw, Jr. of Charlottesville, and Tyler Bradshaw of Harrisonburg; one great-grandchild, Bailey Rae Lebo of Valley Center, Calif., and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral with Military Honors will be held Saturday, March 23, at 11 a.m. at Rosemont Cemetery, Sedley, with the Rev. Brent Kimlick and Rev. Sharon James officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Wright Funeral Home and suggest memorials be made to Franklin Baptist Church.
