Randolph S. Brown

Randolph S. Brown departed this life on March 2, 2013. He was born July 17, 1940 and the son of the late John E. and Saratoga W. Brown.

Randolph was educated in Southampton County public schools, graduating from Hayden High School. He attended Virginia Union University and Norfolk State University. His education was interrupted by the call to military service where he served for two years and received an honorable discharge.

After working for the Norfolk Transit System as a bus operator, he decided to relocate to Philadelphia and transferred to the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority. Later he decided to complete his education at Cheyney State University where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Industrial Arts.

He had a most rewarding teaching career with the School District of Philadelphia retiring in 1998.

After his retirement, Randolph decided to open R. S. Brown Limousine Service along with his wife and sons.

Randolph enjoyed going to the farm raising chickens, goats, planting a garden and taking care of his car collection. He was truly a country boy!!

He leaves to honor his memory his wife, Cynthia, one daughter, Monique. two sons, Colby and JaVaughn one sister, Esther Guyton-Holiday and two grandchildren along with a host of cousins and friends.

The funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church, 318 Hall Street, Franklin, Va., on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 11:00 AM. There will be a public viewing at the funeral home on Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. A traditional service with dignity will be conducted by Wm. M.
