David and Deborah Duck of Gatesville, N.C., announce the engagement of their daughter, Laura Ann Duck, to Joshua Armon Jenkins of Clayton, N.C.

He is the son of Clay and Hope Jenkins of Clayton.
Formerly of Franklin, the bride-to-be graduated from University of North Carolina at Pembroke in May 2010 with a degree in health promotions.
Her fiancé graduated from Barton College with a degree in biology.
The couple met while attending Chowan University.
An April 20, 2013, wedding is planned.
