WINDSOR—An alleged Wednesday assault of a Windsor nursing home resident by an employee will likely be ruled a case of self-defense, Windsor Police Chief Vic Reynolds said Friday.

Police at 3:50 p.m. were called to Consulate Health Care on Courthouse Highway for the alleged assault.

“(The) preliminary investigation shows that this will most likely be a case of self-defense in which an employee had to protect herself from an aggressive patient who was observed by independent witnesses, verbally threatening the employee and aggressively advancing toward her,” Reynolds said.

The investigation is continuing and has been brought to the attention of the Isle of Wight

Commonwealth’s Attorney Wayne Farmer.
