Michael Angelo Martinette Jr.

VIRGINIA BEACH—Michael Angelo Martinette Jr., 82, passed away Feb. 26, 2013.

Mr. Martinette was born in Norfolk, the son of the late Michael A. and Mary Ambrose Martinette.

Following graduation from Norview High School, he honorably served in the U.S. Army. After his Army service he entered the family business, Southern Beauty Supply, and later he opened Beauty Academies at Wards Corner, Oceana, Janaf, Indian River and was currently in the process of opening Lincoln Street Beauty Academy in Hampton.

He is survived by three children, Sharon Pflueger of Virginia Beach, Anthony W. “Tony” Martinette of Courtland and Barry Martinette and wife, Brenda, of Portsmouth; two stepsons, William A. Cooke and Steve Burlas; two brothers, Cecil Martinette (Helen) and Thomas Martinette (Dorothy); and 14 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Michael A. Martinette III.

A memorial service with military honors will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 2, at Western Branch Baptist Church, 4710 High St. West, by the Dr. Walter Black.
