FRANKLIN—Western Tidewater can expect an inch to 1½ inches of snow on Saturday, Dan Proch, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Wakefield, said Friday.

The snow that falls after 5 p.m. could stick to the roads, and Sunday’s 30-degree temperatures means the snow could remain throughout the day in grassy areas, Proch said.

“It might have a hard time sticking to the roads (come Sunday),” he said.

The chance of precipitation on Saturday is 60 percent.

A mix of rain and snow is expected to begin at about 1 p.m. and turn over to mostly snow three to four hours later when the temperature drops from the high 40s to the low to mid-30s, Proch said.

“Maybe around 10 p.m. (the precipitation) will push off and taper off with the snow ending,” he said.

Sunday is calling for a high of 30 with no precipitation.
