FRANKLIN—Money Mailer will remain open a month longer than expected, with new a closing date set for March 17.

“We want to make sure our customers and franchisees orders are produced timely and to quality,” Jeanne Stanley, vice president of human resources, said Tuesday. “We wanted to make sure everything will run smoothly with the transition to Cenveo in Richmond.”

Based in Garden Grove, Calif., the direct mail and printing company announced in September it would close its Pretlow Industrial Park facility.

Franklin City Manager Randy Martin was glad to hear the news

“The good news is this gives their employees more time to transition as well,” Martin said during Monday’s City Council meeting.

Amanda Jarratt, president and chief executive officer for Franklin Southampton Economic Development Inc., said 76 employees remain at the facility.

“No one has been laid off to date,” Jarratt said. “Those that have left did so after finding new employment.”

Martin said there is the possibility of another extension.

“Nothing is guaranteed on that,” he said. “Randy (Betz, vice president of Workforce Development at Paul D. Camp Community College) and his team are making sure resources are available to help the employees find new work.”

Jarratt noted a new tenant is being sought.
