IVOR—An Ivor man was killed at 1:23 a.m. Sunday after he was hit by the driver of a car while walking on Route 460 east of Ivor Road, Virginia State Police said.

John Marcus Foster, 49, of Gate House Drive was the victim.

Thomas Geter of Suffolk was the driver, police said.

It is unknown if alcohol was a factor for the pedestrian.

The investigation continues.
