Chamber members travel to Richmond

RICHMOND—Seven representatives from the Franklin-Southampton Area Chamber of Commerce recently attended Virginia Chamber of Commerce Chamber Day in Richmond.

Randolph Cook, Dr. Patsy Joyner, Ellen Couch, Nancy Parrish, Melissa Rose, Teresa Beale and Tony Clark heard remarks from House Speaker William J. Howell, Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling, Sen. Majority Leader Tommy Norment and Gov. Bob McDonnell.

The group also visited the General Assembly, meeting with three out of four area legislators. Discussions included the transportation bill, education, workforce, school boards and economic development. A copy of the Chamber’s legislative priorities were presented at each visit.
