Cox leads Franklin girls to 51-48 win

FRANKLIN—Franklin’s Dikeya Cox scored 15 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to lead the Lady Broncos to a 51-48 Tri-Rivers District win over visiting Windsor on Friday.

Janesha Hurdle picked up her fourth double-double of the season for the Lady Broncos with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Aerial Darden got her first-ever double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds.

Winsdor’s Bridgette Walton led all scorers with 16 points; Makayla Servais added 13.

Windsor’s junior varsity girls defeated Franklin 18-17 with a free throw in the last seconds of the game.

Franklin will travel to Sussex and Windsor to Surry for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, games.
