WAKEFIELD—Jonathan Gay, 38, known as “Bing” or “Jig,” died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at his home in Wakefield.

Services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, at Mars Hill A.M.E. Zion in Wakefield. Burial will follow at Booker T. Memorial in Wakefield.

Mr. Gay worked at the Virginia Diner and Uppy’s, both in Wakefield, and Sonic in Suffolk.

He is survived by sons Jonathan Gay Jr. and Julius Gay; sisters Christine Hill of Waverly, Estelle Thornton of Surry and Rosa Gay of Wakefield; brothers William Gay Jr. of Smithfield, Donald Gay of Wakefield and Melvin Gay of Windsor.
