Benjamin Frederick ‘Ted’ Deanes

MURFREESBORO, N.C.—Lifelong Murfreesboro, N.C., resident Benjamin Frederick “Ted” Deanes, 93, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital.

A service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at Murfreesboro United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Murfreesboro.

The family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, at Murfreesboro United Methodist Church and other times at the home of his son, Tommy Deanes, at 107 Bruce Farmer Road, Millennium, N.C.

Mr. Deanes was a service technicians for Murfreesboro Appliance Co. and operated the projectors at the Pastime Theater and the Murfree Drive-In in Murfreesboro. He also co-owned Lessie’s Florist.

He is survived by children Joyce Putnam of Enfield, N.C., Vickie Hunnings of Suffolk, Barbara Benton of Union, N.C., Tommy Deanes of Millennium, Joey Deanes of Clarkesville, Ga., Nancy Brittenham and Connie Parker, both of Aulander, Billy Deanes of Murfreesboro and Sandra Nabinger of Ahoskie.
