FRANKLIN—Forecasters are calling for a coating to up to an inch of snow from mid-afternoon through midnight Friday.

Jon McGee, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Wakefield, said Wednesday the chance of snow is 75 percent.

McGee doesn’t expect freezing rain or ice.

“If anything, there may be a little sleet,” he said. “It will be cold enough higher (in the atmosphere) to prevent it from changing to liquid.”

Friday’s high temperature is expected to be 32.

There’s also a 60 percent chance of flurries for Thursday.
