WAVERLY—Longtime Waverly resident George “Big G. Lo.” Allen died Jan. 8, 2013, at Southside Regional Medical Center, Petersburg.

A funeral was held Saturday at the Empowerment Temple, Waverly. Burial followed at the Booker T. Memorial Park, Wakefield.

Mr. Allen worked at Smurfit Stone for 35 years.

He is survived by daughters Eulanda Allen and Tracey Crockett, both of Prince George, Norma Jenkins of Hopewell and Jamila Allen of Petersburg; sisters Ruby Jones, Annie Williams, Hannah Evans and Evelyn Taylor, all of Prince George, and Barbara Williams of Hopewell; and a brother, John Allen of Hopewell.

Turner-Bland Funeral Home, Hopewell, handled arrangements.
