CARRSVILLE—Carrsville Elementary School was one of seven schools in Virginia nominated to receive the National Blue Ribbons School award.

The award recognizes public and private schools that are producing outstanding results for all students regardless of race or socioeconomic status. Schools that are nominated have demonstrated consistent excellence, made significant academic progress and closed gaps in student achievement.

“We are very excited to be one of seven schools in the state nominated for this award,” said Carrsville Principal Laura Matthews. “This nomination speaks to the hard work and dedication my teachers and staff put forth on a daily basis.”

“I am so proud of the Carrsville Elementary School family,” added Director of Elementary Education Jacqueline Carr. “This is truly the result of teamwork, dedication and commitment of our teachers and staff, hard work from students, as well as the support of the parents.”
