COURTLAND—A Virginia Beach man will serve 12 years in prison after admitting to a murder-for-hire plot against two Franklin women and their families.

David Olonzo-Marcus Powell, 25, entered a plea part way through this week’s jury trial in Southampton County Circuit Court.

Powell was one of four charged in the Nov. 3, 2010, home invasion at Meadow Ridge apartments on North College Drive in Franklin.

In early November, a jury found Justin Lee Condra of Norfolk guilty for his part. He’s expected to be sentenced Tuesday, Jan. 22.

That’s the same day the trial is expected to start for suspect, Luis Manuel Nunez, 29.

On Jan. 31, 2011, charges were dismissed against suspect Desiree Elizabeth Brady.
