COURTLAND—The Southampton Academy girls’ basketball won 45-29 against host Brunswick Academy on Friday.

Leading the winners were senior Barclay Gatten with 15 points and 9 rebounds. Sophomore Sarah Best added 13 points and junior Morgan Pope scored 10.

“The team played well, a lot better since right before Christmas,” said SA Coach Chris Pope. “They shot the ball well. Overall, it was one of the better games this year.”

The girls improved to 4-5 and 1-3 in the VCC.

SA played Richmond Christian Tuesday; results were not available as of press time.
