NEWSOMS—Kenneth Earl Francis, 64, passed away January 6, 2013, at Southampton Memorial Hospital.

He was a son of the late Lona and Cleon Glover Francis.

Kenny was a member of Newsoms Baptist Church and a retired area manager of Verizon.

He was an honorably discharged Staff Sergeant from the National Guard.

Survivors include one son, Ken Francis Jr.; one sister, Shirley Beaton (Jerry); one brother, Roger Francis (Debbie); and a beloved granddaughter, Cameron Francis, all of Newsoms.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2012, at Hollywood Cemetery with the U.S. Army National Guard conducting military honors. The Rev. Jason Wise will be officiating the service.

The family will receive friends at Wright Funeral Home on Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and suggests that memorial donations be made to the Newsoms Volunteer Fire Department or Boykins Volunteer Rescue Squad.
