To the Editor:

This Thanksgiving and Christmas season really has reassured my family and me that there are some good people in this world.

My sister and her two daughters were in a very bad car accident on Nov. 14. (“Former Franklin woman recuperates from crash,” Dec. 26). They were badly injured.

Churches, friends and family helped by bringing food, building a wheelchair ramp and creating fundraisers to help them.

I would like to send a special thank you from the bottom of my heart to some people who helped my family. Our cousins, Tony Longoria and David Gray, along with Mark Clayton and Windsor Baptist Youth and Anthony Robinette with Garage Ministry of Smithfield.

Janet and Glen Joyner, Beth Turner and her daughter, Katelyn Duck, were a tremendous help setting up and printing 50/50 fundraising tickets.

Katelyn Duck — age 15 — took it upon herself to go to her pastor and asked to do a love offering for three Sundays to help my sister and two nieces with Christmas. The members of her church helped in a tremendous way.

Christine Hill came to Janet’s Touch of Style in Franklin to take pictures to send to The Tidewater News. I am truly thankful for everyone who participated in any way to help my sister, Suzanne Kuhlman, and two nieces, Taylor Clements and Madison Kuhlman.
