SUFFOLK—Murfreesboro, N.C., native Essie Mae Stephenson Andrews died Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk.

Mrs. Andrews retired from Norfolk Naval Supply Center in 1998.

She is survived by her husband, Leroy Andrews; son, retired Lt. Col. Paul Garriet Andrews of Atlanta; daughter, Karen Thompson of Bowie, Md.; and sister, Janet Parker of Suffolk.

Calling hours will be noon to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, at T.E. Cooke-Overton Funeral Home in Suffolk. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, at East End Baptist Church, Suffolk. Burial will be at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
