Fishing Expo set for Jan. 25-Jan. 27

RICHMOND—The Richmond Fishing Expo is returning to the Farm Bureau Center at the new Meadow Event Park in Doswell, Caroline County, from Friday, Jan. 25, through Saturday, Jan. 27.

The family-oriented show is geared to be an educational experience.

There will be conservation organizations represented, and outfitters, fishing charters, boating suppliers and seminar presenters. Numerous nationally known speakers will hold seminars to teach skills and share stories of their adventures and experiences.

The Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries will answer questions on agency programs, angling education, training events and opportunities to share in Virginia’s outdoors.

The Outdoor Report e-newsletter will also have an exhibit featuring Fishin’ Report contributing reporters answering questions on where to get the latest information on more than 25 primary lakes and rivers statewide.

Volunteers from the VDGIF Complementary Work Force will describe opportunities for volunteers to assist in carrying out a variety of agency programs.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

A three-day admission is $8 for adults, $7 for senior citizens, $5 for 6- to 12-year-olds and free for anyone 5 and under.
