Mrs. Daphney Mae Wright Lewis of Main Street, Courtland, Va., passed December 12, 2012.

She was born in Southampton County, Va., on January 1, 1921, to the late Cleveland and Lucy Owens Wright.

For many years, Daphney resided in Boston, Mass., and returned home to care for her family after the demise of her mother.

She is survived by two sisters, Tillie Fortner (Frank) of Sunlakes, Ariz., and Juanita Blowe (Eddie), Capron; one brother, Cleveland Wright of Philadelphia, Pa.; two sisters-in-law, Grace Wright and Henrietta Wright; and nieces, nephews and many other relatives.

A homegoing service will be held on Monday, December 17, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Pine Level Baptist Church, 23035 Church St., Capron, Va., with the Reverend Catherine Hamlin delivering the eulogy; Reverend Keith Rose is pastor.

The interment will be in the church cemetery.
