Alice Wills Allen

CARRSVILLE—Alice Wills Allen, 79, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at Sentara Obici Hospital.
She was a daughter of the late Earl Wills and was predeceased by her husbands, Gilbert Brasswell and Albert H. Allen. Mrs. Allen was also predeceased by a son, Jerry Allen; a granddaughter, “Angel” Amy Phelps; and two brothers, Carlton and Charles Wills.
Mrs. Allen was born in Newport News and reared in Southampton County.
She retired from American Greetings and was a longtime member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Brenda B. Rawls and husband, Kilby, of Windsor, Sandra B. Huband and husband, David, of Virginia Beach, Pat B. Mason and husband, Ronnie, of Franklin, and Patricia Phelps and husband, Rod, of Franklin; daughter-in-law, Gail J. Allen of Windsor; son, Larry A. Allen of Belize; seven grandchildren, Dave Allen (Stacy), Ben Phelps (Candy), Jennifer Rawls, Kevin Rawls, Brent Mason (Stephanie), Cheryl M. Drake (Eric) and Tyler Huband; and seven great-grandchildren, Sean, Trevor and Amanda Allen, Ethan Phelps, Brooklynn and Garrett Drake, and Dawson Joyner.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 15, 2012, at Beaver Dam Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Richard Peerey and the Rev. Curtis Faison officiating. The burial will follow at Rosemont Cemetery, Sedley.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home, 206 W.
