COURTLAND—Southampton County Sheriff’s Office was called around 7 a.m. Saturday to investigate a fire at Newsoms Hunt Club on Ridley Road, Courtland.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time, said Major Gene Drewery.

“The fire, which burned mostly leaves and brush, did burn several supports to the dog pens,” Drewery said.

A club member discovered the fire damage.
