Maggie Lawrence

FRANKLIN—Mrs. Maggie Lawrence of Pocahontas Avenue, Franklin, Va., peacefully departed this life on December 1, 2012, in her home.
On June 15, 1943, she was born in Isle of Wight County to James A. and Rosa H. Warren.
Maggie attended the public schools of Isle of Wight County and was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church.
She was employed with St. Regis Paper Corp. for many years until the plant’s closing in 1987. Thereafter, she became a nursing assistant and was employed with Southampton Memorial Hospital and The Village at Woods Edge.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Lawrence Jr.; two sisters, Gladys and Jeanette; and brother, Joseph.
She is survived by two sons, Timothy Lawrence and William Lawrence, III (Lori); four sisters, Catherine Britt, Flossie Hall, Barbara Ann Jones (Samuel) and Vanessa Moore (William); three brothers, James Warren (Sandra), Reverend Ryland Warren (Oretha) and Michael Warren; two grandchildren, Bryce and Britney; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
A service of transition will be held at 11:00 a.m. December 6, 2012, at Piney Grove Baptist Church, 1071 Carrsville Highway., Franklin, Va., with the pastor, Reverend Alfred D. Brown Sr. delivering the eulogy.
The committal and benediction will be in Southview Cemetery.
On the day of service, her remains will be placed in church for viewing by 10 a.m.
