SUFFOLK—A Carrsville man faces up to 16 years in prison after admitting to being the driver in a March 6, 2011, crash that left a Waverly woman dead.

William Byrum Davis, 28, recently entered a plea during a pre-trial hearing in a Suffolk court.

Hollyann Heinrich, 23, died in the 1:40 a.m. crash on Glen Haven Drive in the Holland area. She was thrown from the truck Davis was driving. Passenger Dustin Bishop, 24, of Stony Creek in Sussex County, also was thrown and remained in a coma for two months. He was Heinrich’s boyfriend.

Davis initially admitted to being the driver, but then recanted and said he did not know who was driving.

Davis pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter, maiming while driving under intoxication and drunken driving. He will be sentenced in January.
