Anne B. Jones

CARRSVILLE—Anne Billups Jones, 93, loving wife, mother and grandmother, predeceased by her beloved husband, Wesley B. “WB” Jones, went to her Lord on November 28, 2012.

A native of South Norfolk, she was the daughter of the late Harry Evans and Annie Kemp Billups and was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Arthur Stoudemire and Elizabeth “Betty” Gribble.

Mrs. Jones was a graduate of Farmville State Teachers College, now Longwood College. She contributed to the war effort as a mathematician at Langley and taught school, and was an ardent community servant, faithful supporter of the Episcopal Church (most recently Emmanuel Episcopal Church), bird lover and gardener.

Survivors include her sons, Kemp P. Jones of Seattle and Henry B. Jones and his wife, Jenny, of Virginia Beach; five grandchildren, Mariah and Madeline Jones, Kristin Partington (Jeff), Collin Glans (Charisse) and Annemarie Jones; one great-grandchild, Khloe Glans; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 8, 2012, at Emmanuel Episcopal Church with the Rev. Edmund Pickup officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Blackstone, Va., at a later date.
