STATESVILLE—The Barnes United Methodist Women entered the fellowship hall for its November meeting with a table containing a cross, lit candle, globe and glass jar containing coins.

Pat Gardner led members in the World Thank Offering program.

Readers included Linda T. Drake, Lynda Updike, Nancy Matthews and Paula Drake.

The group will remember two families at Christmas by placing red and white poinsettias in the sanctuary with money going to Franklin Cooperative Ministries and Boykins Food Pantry.
