COURTLAND—Janet “Jan” Blanche Nemeth, 72, passed away Thursday, November 15, 2012, at Southampton Memorial Hospital in Franklin after a long illness.

Jan was born in Amesbury, Mass., and reared in Kittery Pointe, Maine, the only child of the late Bradford Dawson and Blanche Veronica Garwich Gray.

She was a former registered nurse, a former counselor with Pendleton Child Care of Virginia Beach and a former teacher in the STOP program.

She was a graduate of Old Dominion University, a member of Courtland United Methodist Church and loved cooking.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 30 years, David Paul Nemeth, and one daughter, Tina Tripoli of Capron.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19, at Courtland United Methodist Church with Rev. Brandon Robbins officiating. The burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
