FRANKLIN—Franklin High School shop teacher Dave Lease had his students build the frame for the Franklin-Southampton Area United Way goal thermometer at North College and Armory Drive.

“Our goal is $175,000 and we have 30 percent of the money toward the goal,” said United Way Executive Director Anne Bryant. “Donations from the community are coming in well.”

“Most of the workplace campaigns, which make up much of our campaign, are still in progress and won’t report in until the end of December,” Bryant added.

The community will be updated on the campaign progress.

Donations can be mailed to Franklin-Southampton Area United Way at P.O. Box 366, Franklin, Va., 23851, or go to www.franklinunitedway.org to pay by credit card.
