Time for Democrats, Republicans to bond

To the Editor:
The election is over. Now the real work begins.
We as Americans must put the battle behind us. We have too much to lose.
We must refrain from doing the “I told you so” routine. It will not be helpful.
We have a $16 trillion deficit that is projected to be $20 trillion if we don’t act. Both parties are to blame for this mess. We need to bond together like we did on Sept. 11, 2011; this is just as important.
I must admit I am a little disappointed at the results, but I must suck it up and move forward. Our children’s and grandchildren’s future is at stake.
I only hope the politicians will see it that way, too. I am afraid the politicians on both sides will dig in their heels and continue the status quo.
A Democrat, Republican, or Independent. We are all Americans and must do what is right for us all? So I will do my part and try my best, and pray this all works out. God bless the United States of America.
