DREWRYVILLE—To help the U.S. Postal Service save money, Drewryville residents will see a cutback in hours.

Beginning Jan. 12, the post office will operate 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Saturday.

The hours were set after customers were asked to fill out a survey with options for the post office.

“Out of the 327 surveys sent out for Drewryville, 108 asked for reduced hours,” said Postal Service Spokeswoman Michele Martell in Richmond. “Six asked for roadside delivery. No one wanted a village post office in another business. One wanted the office closed, and five made no selection,”

Boykins, Branchville, Carrsville, Isle of Wight, Sedley and Zuni will face similar situations.
