To the Editor:

I would like to take the opportunity to extend a huge thank you to the Newsoms community for their enormous support of our town’s post office and employees.

It was a welcome, heart-warming sight to see the impressive turnout Monday to meet the management from Richmond Postal Operations.

I honestly believe the large vocal crowd made a very positive impression on our managers. Our patrons, both with their physical presence at the meeting and their survey responses, showed us at this post office that they will do what it takes to keep our local offices open.

Without the support that we did receive, Monday’s positive results could have been extremely different.

I want to let the community know that I and my co-workers realize and appreciate the time taken to keep our doors open and our carrier local.
