IVOR—Cornell J. Cypress Sr., 75, of General Mahone Boulevard, Ivor, died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, at Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk.

A funeral was held Monday at Gilfield Baptist Church, Ivor. Burial was at Davis-Johnson Family Cemetery.

An Ivor native, Mr. Cypress retired from the Town of Wakefield as a maintenance supervisor.

He is survived by a daughter, Cynara Cypress of Wakefield; son Cornell Cypress Jr. of Atlanta; and sisters Pamela McDonald, Denise Gray of Norfolk, Carole Cypress of District Heights, Md., Dorothy Cypress Jackson of Natchitoches, La., and Ida Cypress Lee of Los Angeles.
