PumpkinFest a must

The 2nd annual Boykins PumpkinFest, which will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, promises to be a good event.

Some 2,500 to 3,000 attended last year’s PumpkinFest. The hope is that more will attend this year.

Hosted by the Boykins Main Street Initiative, the street festival will feature craft vendors, games for kids, free face painting, a petting zoo, pony rides, free hayrides, bake-off contests, live performances, a talent show and an antique car show.

Forecasters are calling for a partly cloudy, 69-degree day with no chance of rain.

So head on out and enjoy all that the festival has to offer. See a friend, or two and help bring commerce back to Boykins’ Main Street, where merchants have worked hard to provide a quaint shopping environment.
